Western Governors announces scholarship contest finalists

Students who are interested in advancing their education, but are faced with the obstacle of paying for school, can benefit from annual scholarship programs. By taking advantage of these opportunities, individuals can obtain a postsecondary degree at an affordable cost.

For example, academic officials from Western Governors University (WGU) have announced the 10 finalists in the Make a Great Commercial contest, which will award more than $12,000 in scholarships to the top five participants. The award process includes selection by a panel of judges and a public voting feature through on the school’s website, and will take place until August 10.

The main part of the submission package was a commercial that was 30 to 60 seconds in length focused on how a degree from WGU can lead to a variety of academic and professional benefits.

Financial assistance is to be used towards enrollment in one of the school’s online degree programs, and will help cover tuition, housing, books, fees and other academic expenses. Winning students can specialize in business, education, information technology or healthcare.

The school will announce the scholarship recipients on August 13.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19917403-ADNFCR
