Individuals who would like to have a flexible career may find that some schools are expanding programs that cater to these students.
For instance, Cortiva Institute Schools of Massage Therapy recently announced that it will open another location - in Hoboken, New Jersey - where enrollees can take courses to learn how to work in this field. Students can begin taking these classes as early as this fall.
This profession could be appealing for individuals who wish to change their current position, or would like a second job, because it provides a convenient way to earn an income. Arlin Schmidt, the institute's chief executive officer, said that "massage therapy is a career that fits around your life." He added that "it is very flexible, every day is different."
There could also be numerous career opportunities for individuals who enroll at institutions that offer similar programs. According to Payscale.com, massage therapists have the option to work in various places, including day spas, fitness clubs, healthcare and physical therapy organizations.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the number of jobs for these professionals will increase by 19 percent over the next eight years.
