Schools increase their graduate-level offerings in theology for students

Although it may be a small industry to enter, individuals who would like to study theology are finding themselves with more options for an education in this field.

For students who like the subject of theology, becoming a teacher could be the best option. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that the most commonly employed individuals in this industry are teachers at the collegiate level. Theology professors who work at colleges or universities typically earn $69,040 each year.

Fortunately, Southwestern College is one school that began a new master's degree in theology this year. This course of study allows students to focus on Christian studies through historical and biblical events, according to the Wichita Business Journal.

Obtaining a master's degree in theology may improve individuals' chances of getting a job. The BLS reports that those holding a higher degree and would like to teach at the collegiate level are sometimes given preference over those who do not.

Students who would like to teach theology and need a master's degree to do so could benefit from this program, as the courses can be completed online without having to rearrange any schedules.
