Schools are helping students further their education in nursing

The nursing industry may appeal to many individuals because it offers desirable salaries and a great deal of job opportunities. Fortunately, schools are realizing this and combining their efforts to make it easier for students to complete their bachelor's degree in nursing.

Business First reports that Spalding University and Galen College of Nursing are doing just that for students who are obtaining a bachelor's of science in nursing (BSN). Galen offers an associate's degree in nursing (ADN) but will allow individuals to transfer their credits to Spalding so they may complete a BSN program quickly. This may be ideal for individuals who are already working in the field of nursing, but would like to further their education.

This may be something for students to consider if they would like to make a higher salary. According to Payscale.com, registered nurses who hold a bachelor's degree can make more money than those without this certification. Nurses with a higher degree typically see more job opportunities and better promotions in the workplace.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that over the next eight years, approximately 581,500 jobs for registered nurses will be created.
