Students with an educational background in business can qualify for a variety of career paths, including employment with nonprofit organizations. By obtaining a degree in this field, individuals can reap the benefits of a job that is both unique and rewarding.

In an effort to honor individuals who have already entered the workforce in this sector, some schools are combining efforts with nonprofit organizations to launch scholarship programs. For example, the University of Notre Dame has become the latest school to become involved with the Peace Corps Fellows/USA program, which provides financial assistance to current volunteers who are pursuing advanced degrees.

The university plans to award a scholarship worth $10,500 to one student who is enrolling in the school's new nonprofit administration masters program, according to the South Bend Tribune. A first graduate program to become eligible through this financial aid opportunity, this degree is slated to be available in summer 2011.

October 1 is the last day for students to apply for the financial aid program, the news source reports.

Last year, the nonprofit sector employed approximately 5.4 million individuals, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19879249-ADNFCR
