
In an effort To help those who are actively serving in the National Guard and the Army Reserves earn a bachelor's or master's degree, some schools have created scholarship programs. For instance, Western Governors University (WGU) recently announced that it will award financial aid to citizen soldiers who wish to enroll in a business, information technology, healthcare or teaching program.
Multiple scholarships of up to $1,500 will be given to members of the National Guard based on previous their academic records, competency and dedication to an online degree program.
Bachelor's and master's degrees can be also be completed entirely on the internet. As a result, busy military personnel can enroll in courses while maintaining their current position or attending to family obligations.
The school also provides tuition assistance for all members of the armed forces, including veterans, through the GI Bill who wish to pursue higher education.
National Guard personnel, as well as other military officials, will find that there are many job opportunities available if they complete a degree in healthcare. According to the BLS, this industry is expected to generate 3.2 million new positions over the next eight years.
