Rise in student enrollment leads to campus expansion

Due to the economic downturn, many people are enrolling in or returning to school in order to improve their professional value. Because of the increase in student enrollment across the country, many postsecondary schools are expanding both their campuses and the number of degrees they offer.

In an effort to provide more educational opportunities for students in Michigan, South University in Detroit recently announced it will begin construction on a new campus location located in Novi. The new project will allow the school to have more space for incoming students and increase the number of degrees they can pursue.

Classes are slated to begin on October 2 at the new facilities, which will house several bachelors degree programs, including business administration, criminal justice and healthcare management. Also, South University will offer two graduate programs at the Novi campus, specializing in professional counseling and business administration.

John T. South III, chancellor of the school, stated that "the new campus ill make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and produce graduates who have the credentials and experience to find meaningful work throughout Michigan."

Payscale.com, a research company, reports that the average salaries for individuals who have obtained bachelors degrees range from $44,113 to $86,836 per year.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19862357-ADNFCR
