Part-time human resources programs may benefit current business professionals

Individuals who have an educational background in business can work in a variety of fields, including human resources. Professionals who are looking to advance their skills and become qualified for promotions or salary raises, but don't want to quit their jobs, can benefit from enrolling in part-time degree programs.

For example, George Fox University will be accepting applications until August 1 from individuals who are interested in enrolling in the school's part-time MBA degree program. Upon accumulating the required 42 credits, students will be equipped with an understanding of interpersonal communication, ethics and social responsibility.

Individuals who take advantage of this opportunity can specialize in three different fields, including strategic resource management. Students who pursue this degree will be introduced to leadership and management skills through hands-on workshops, which will teach them techniques that can be used in administrative human resources careers.

The school also offers an MBA degree in finance, which introduces students to problem-solving skills, business valuation, global finance issues and investment. Organizational strategy is the third concentration offered by George Fox, and future degree holders will learn about environmental sustainability and its impact on the business world.

Depending on the field, position and years of experience, the average salaries for MBA degree holders ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008, according to PayScale.com, a research company.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19888680-ADNFCR
