OnCampus Research helps improve educational opportunities for marketing students

To help enhance the education of today's marketing students, schools across the country are launching programs that link students with real-life companies. These opportunities can benefit future degree holders who are looking to learn about strategies and developing trends in this profession.

OnCampus Research recently helped a group of students from the University of Texas (UT) at Austin McCombs School of Business finish a project that emphasizes the use of marketing methods. The strategic marketing class used data collected by the research group and created a marketing plan that would increase student involvement with OnCampus Research.

A branch of the National Association of College Stores (NACS), OnCampus Research created this educational opportunity to expand curricula from outside of the classroom, giving students the chance to learn about marketing skills used by real-world companies.

"The project was a perfect fit for our senior marketing students," said Ben Bentzin, a professor at UT. He added that "the project gave students real-world experience before they enter the professional workforce and On Campus Research gained insights into consumer motivations."

The employment of advertising, marketing, promotions, public relations and sales managers is expected to grown by 13 percent during the next eight years, and will create an estimated 80,300 new jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19805953-ADNFCR
