Liberal arts students who have already achieved academic success through higher education, and show promise to impact their chosen field as professionals, can receive scholarships for their efforts. As a result, future degree holders who are awarded financial assistance will be able to complete their undergraduate programs at an affordable cost.

For example, the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) recently gave more than $2,000 in scholarships to seven of its current students focusing on liberal arts, according to NewsOK.com. These individuals are enrolled in the school's humanities, public relations, philosophy, journalism, photography, broadcasting and political science-public administration degree programs.

Also, three academic awards were given to students who showed the potential for a successful future in their respective fields.

"We are so proud of our students' accomplishments and their hard work and dedication to academics and service to the university," said Pamela T. Washington, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, quoted by the news source.

Individuals who obtain a degree in public relations may be qualified for high-paying jobs, as these professionals earned annual salaries ranging from $30,140 to $71,670 in 2008, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19920039-ADNFCR
