Nursing scholarships may boost program enrollment

Currently, there is a high demand for professionals who have earned degrees in nursing. To increase enrollment in these programs, several nationwide organizations have established scholarship opportunities that benefit individuals who are advancing their education in this field of study.

Furthermore, these financial aid opportunities will help future degree holders take advantage of the high job demand as government statistics suggest a 22 percent increase in the employment of nursing professionals.

The Menominee County Voiture 1228, located in Michigan, recently awarded its annual scholarship opportunity to 7 students who are will enroll in nursing degree programs this fall at accredited schools, the Daily Press reports. The fraternal veteran organization has given $1,500 to each recipient, which will be spread over the course of four years of schooling.

Members of the organization helped provide aid, donated funding to the scholarship program, according to the new source.

The winners included high school seniors from the Menominee County.

The average undergraduate student gets almost $9,000 in financial aid, approximately half of it in grants that do not have to be repaid, according to Sallie Mae, a college savings company.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19802829-ADNFCR
