Prospective students who are pursuing a business degree with a specialization in supply chain management can benefit from publications written by professors who analyze new developments and the techniques used in that sector.
McGraw-Hill Education, a publishing house, announced today the release of Managing Operations Across the Supply Chain, a textbook written for those who are taking introductory operations management courses. This publication provides students with information about the field from a fully integrated global, supply chain perspective.
Written by a team of professors, this textbook gives educators an another source they can use to prepare students for success in the 21st century economy. The authors aimed to embrace the foundations of operations management while including newly developed frameworks, concepts and tools that help students address the demands and changing needs of the future.
Kevin Kane, president of McGraw-Hill Education's business and economics group, stated that "operations management no longer begins with a product in a factory and ends when the product is built." He added that "because Managing Operations Across the Supply Chain was conceived and written from a global, supply chain perspective, it's the best tool available for preparing students to excel as 21st century managers."
Purchasing managers, buyers and purchasing agents are expected to see a 7 percent growth in employment during the next eight years, which is about as fast as the average for all other occupations, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports.
