Individuals who have enrolled in, or returned to, school and are looking to finish their education at a faster pace can achieve this by taking online classes offered during the summer. These courses allow future degree holders to complete their studies quicker and enter the job market sooner.

For example, Montana State University (MSU) recently announced that summer online education enrollment is now open and is available to all of the school's students, regardless of their field of study. Many of the courses also help current professionals who have returned to school improve their knowledge of the field they're working in.

For students enrolled in or interested in MSU's licensed addiction counselor program, two courses have been made available online this summer. These classes will help individuals earn academic credits needed to become a certified addiction counselor.

The school has also partnered with the National Teachers Enhancement Network to provide 11 online classes that specialize in biology, chemistry, physics as well as earth sciences. Beginning June 7, a math course called Statistics for Teachers, will also be available for current educators.

Nearly one in four U.S. students take at least some college courses online, up from one in 10 in 2002, Reuters reports.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19782579-ADNFCR
