Students pursuing degrees that will prepare them for government-related careers who would like to enhance their studies outside the classroom can benefit from attending national conventions. Individuals who take advantage of these opportunities will also have the chance to meet and network with future employers and industry professionals.
For instance, Franklin Covey, a leadership training corporation, and the Graduate School, an academic institution that specializes in training local, state and federal government professionals, recently sponsored their first Executive Summit. Approximately 100 people attended the one-day event, which was launched to better prepare prospective government employees for their careers.
Also, this fall the institutes will launch six courses designed to teach these professionals how to be more effective in the delivery of various government services. These classes will include better execution methods for grant providers and teams as well as need-to-know skills for public managers and government executives.
"[Our partnership] brings an even greater depth and value to the leadership training we can offer for government employees," says Jerry Ice, CEO and president of the Graduate School. He added that "we look forward to launching this new set of courses and being a premier provider of Franklin Covey solutions to the government sector.
