Military foundation hosts post-service employment event

To help soldiers who have returned home from combat, organizations are hosting events that provide employment information for those who have served in the military. These opportunities reach out to interested individuals who are seeking options for post-service careers.

For example, on May 14, the Armed Forces Foundation and the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) will host an event that will benefit military personnel from the CBP's Tucson Aviation Branch located in Arizona. Attendees will learn about employment opportunities in law enforcement agencies, which offer positions that utilize the skills of former service members that they acquired during their military experience.

Information sessions will also include choosing an appropriate job as well as ways to ease the stress associated with the lengthy application process for employment in this field. Individuals who take advantage of this opportunity will also be given advice on how to transition from military service to civilian life.

Since its inception nine years ago, the Armed Forces Foundation has assisted thousands of military families with paying for housing expenses, provided holiday gifts for children of service members and launched therapeutic recreational events.

Government statistics report that approximately 23 million Americans have a veteran status.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19779665-ADNFCR
