
Individuals who have already entered the workforce, and proven to be successful in their field may be honored by national organizations. In addition such recognitions, these professionals may be awarded scholarships, which can help them further their education in a masters or doctorate program.
The March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization that promotes infant health, has announced the recipients of its annual Graduate Nursing Scholarships, which awarded four registered nurses $5,000 each in financial assistance. Recipients were individuals currently pursuing advanced degrees specializing in maternal-child nursing.
Qualified candidates included registered nurses who are members of various national foundations, including the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and the National Association of Neonatal Nurses. Eligible individuals have also contributed to advancements, and show promise to be an active leader, in this field.
"The March of Dimes is proud to help these nurses succeed and continue their nursing education," said Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. She added that "we hope these scholarships will help them achieve their goals of improving the health of women and babies."
January 15 is the last day interested individuals can submit applications for next year's scholarship program.
