Individuals who pursue a career in journalism need to be able to cover a variety of different subject areas, including business. In order to better prepare business journalists for successful careers, some schools host annual conferences that feature seminars on industry-related topics, including finance, administration and economic trends.

The University of Pennsylvania has announced the dates for its annual Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists, which are set to take place October 10-13. This series of courses will be led by school faculty, which will and feature topics including financial markets, accounting principles, corporate strategy and international economy.

Individuals who attend these seminars will learn how financial markets operate and will be equipped with administrative skills used in corporate strategy scenarios. Also, attendees will work with professionals from some the most lucrative international business associations and gain a better understanding of the importance of financial statements.

For the second consecutive year, program coordinators and the Wharton Interactive Media Initiative will award two scholarships to business journalists planning to attend the seminars and specialize in digital media outlets. Qualified candidates must submit application materials by September 15.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19925065-ADNFCR
