A career in hopsitality management can lead to well-paying employment opportunities all over the world. In fact, in 2008, the salaries of these professionals ranged from $28,160 to $84,270, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In an effort to recognize students enrolling in these degree programs, Diageo, a beer, wine spirits manufacturer, has extended the deadline for students to apply for this year's Celebrate the Future Scholarship Fund program. August 6 is the last day application materials will be accepted.
This financial aid opportunity was launched to benefit Illinois students of Hispanic descent who are advancing their education through hospitality-related two- or four-year programs.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have earned a high school diploma or equivalent degree. Eligible individuals must aslo have maintained a GPA or 2.0 or higher during school.
"Everyone is busy with work, family and friends in the summer months and we want to provide a little more time for nominations and applications," said Diana Fujimura, marketing manager at Diageo. She added that "we want to remind the community that the time to take advantage of these unique scholarships and paid internships is now."
