The Anheuser-Busch Foundation is putting money into schools that contribute to its workforce.
According to Dave Peacock, the companys president, Anheuser-Busch is "one of Missouri's largest employers." The organization believes that, "by supporting these universities, we are investing in the institutions that will produce our future community and business leaders."
Most recently, the Anheuser-Busch Foundation has donated $1 million to Webster University.
Webster is not the only institution of higher education to receive funds from the organization. Other schools that are receiving donations include the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Harris Stowe State University, Saint Louis University, Washington University, Fontbonne University, Ranken Technical College as well as Missouri University of Science and Technology.
The donation to Webster University is going specifically to the George Herbert Walker School of Business and Technology.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the professional and business service sector met a net gain of 300,000 jobs over the course of last year. In the private sector, new establishments led to a net gain of 701,000 jobs.
Technology majors are also likely to be in a good position for jobs after graduation, as many industries are looking to upgrade their technological infrastructure and need to hire new employees in the process.
