These companies provide students earning bachelors degrees or masters degrees in business with unique and rewarding job opportunities that are growing in availability. Many organizations receive grants and other forms of financial assistance each year, making expansion affordable and creating more employment options.
Reported by GazetteJHU.com, 17 local nonprofit organizations in Baltimore received over $170,000 in grants this year. The financial aid will assist the companies in costs that include public safety, health, employment, education and improvements in the community. Habitat for Humanity, Health Care for the Homeless and the Living Classroom Foundation, which helps lower the number of gun-related incidents and homicides in the Baltimore area, are among the groups that received the grants.
Mark Furst, president and CEO of United Way in Central Maryland, stated that "64 organizations submitted applications," proving how much the nonprofits are involved in the surrounding community.
Working for a nonprofit organization allows MBA holders to blend their field of study with the ability to be an active member of their society. Last year, the nonprofit sector employed approximately 5.4 million individuals, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
