Financial aid opportunities may lower education costs

Students who are advancing their education, and wish to lower expenses including tuition, housing, books and other fees can benefit from researching scholarship programs. Many organizations nationwide have established new financial assistance campaigns in an effort to encourage individuals to pursue a postsecondary degree and help them pay for school.

For instance, SimpleTuition, a U.S.-based scholarship provider, has announced it will now accept applications for its College Cash Giveaway, which will help lower the costs of higher education. Graduating high school seniors will be awarded $500 each in scholarships.

The organization has provided three ways for interested individuals to apply for the opportunity, which include SimpleTuition's website, Twitter page or Facebook webpage. The organization's website reports that eligible candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a legal resident or U.S. citizen and enrolled at accredited school.

"For many students and parents, this is the time of year when they work hard on figuring out how to pay for college," said Kevin Walker, co-founder and CEO of the financial aid organization." He added that "the more scholarships, grants and other funding students can accumulate now, the less need there is to borrow money to be paid back after graduation."

The first round of winners will be announced on July 9, and more recipients will be awarded on each of the remaining Fridays of the month.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19851606-ADNFCR
