Financial aid helps students enter booming nursing job market

Nursing is currently one of the most highest growing sectors of the job market, but for some the costs can be a challenge. Fortunately, such an increase in job availability, prospective students who are interested in earning their bachelors or masters degree will find many opportunities for financial aid. The ability to reduce education expenses allows more students to apply to nursing schools or even look into more advanced degrees.

For example, in New York registered and licensed nurses who want to further their education are eligible to apply for the Edna A. Lauterbach Scholarship grants of up to $2,000 to be used for tuition, books, specialty training as well as other educational costs. Recipients will be recognized at the Association of HealthCare Providers' Annual Management Conference & Exhibition in October.

According to Phyllis Wang, the association's president, "this scholarship fund helps those nurses who recognize the opportunities that exist in the growing home care industry and who want to dedicate their careers to providing care in the home."

In December 2009, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 4 million jobs will be created in the healthcare and social assistance fields by 2018.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19698011-ADNFCR
