
Those who are interested in a career in the public relations industry may find that individuals who have earned associates, bachelors or masters degree in that field may benefit from this education in a variety of ways, including by winning national recognition of their professional success.
The Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) organization, a source that provides area professionals with information about developing trends, networking opportunities, marketplace positioning and leadership roles in the community, will give three female recipients the Emerging Leaders Awards. These awards recognize women who have excelled in public relations, communications and other related fields.
Recipients of the awards are chosen based on their accomplishments in the field as well as the impact they may have on the industry in the future.
Eligible candidates include women between the ages of 21 and 35 who are members of the WWPR and work in a communications or marketing-related fields. Recipients will be recognized at a ceremony on June 15.
By 2018, employment of public relations specialists is projected to increase by 24 percent, which will create 66,200 new jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
