Everyday schools are coming up with new, interactive ways for business students to earn a degree beyond being tied down to a desk. Future MBA degree holders seeking these opportunities can enroll in programs that now integrate design skills into the foundation of various business degrees. Adding design to the business curriculum can give students skills that can help them in jobs that require more than just familiarity with finance or marketing.

At the University of Viriginia's Darden School of Business, a design lab called the i.Lab was constructed in order to give business students a hands-on experience to complement book chapters and lectures, The Wall Street Journal reported.

One course offered though the iLab focuses on "corporate innovation and design experience," where students are tasked with inventing a new product or reinventing an existing one. As such, work done in the the i.Lab teaches future MBA degree holders skills that are the norm for artists, engineers and architects.

The school stated that its new "design thinking" initiative is key for entrepreneurs, according to news provider.

By 2018, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that employment of financial managers is expected to grow by 8 percent.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19700767-ADNFCR
