Students who have achieved great success through the use of skills learned in advanced business degree program may receive national recognition for their efforts. In fact, those who display the potential to be great entrepreneurial leaders in this industry may be eligible for financial aid opportunities.
For example, a total of five business students from across the country have been named the finalists in college entrepreneur category of Entrepreneur Magazine's annual awards program. Among this year's nominees is Greg Waldstreicher, a senior from at the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute, who was selected for co-founding DoseSpot.
The company has developed software for an online healthcare system, which would allow physicians to send prescriptions directly to pharmacies via electronic messaging. Waldstreicher and his team have also made efforts to benefit patients, as they would receive web-based notifications once their medications were filled.
"We have worked hard to build an easy-to-use, secure, reliable product that revolutionizes the sometimes difficult process of writing, tracking and filling prescriptions," said Waldstreicher. He added that "our system makes it as easy as writing an email."
In addition to receiving $5,000 and a three-year subscription to the magazine, Waldstreicher will also be featured in next year's January and December issues.
