Business students may benefit from flexibility, affordability of web-based education

Students who wish to obtain a degree in human resources at an affordable cost, but can't commit to a traditional course schedule, can benefit from online degree programs. By taking advantage of these opportunities, individuals can learn skills at their own pace and be able to afford educational expenses.

In an effort to meet student demand for web-based degree options, academic institutions are creating more of these programs. For example, Pennsylvania State University will now offer two undergraduate programs specializing in labor and employment relations.

Students who take advantage of these new educational opportunities will be equipped with skills needed to work in the field of human resources. In addition to preparing individuals for these careers, similar degrees can lead to becoming qualified for law school.

Paul F. Clark, professor of labor studies and employment relations at the school, stated that "there is a large demand for this degree, because of the central role human resources and employment relations play in the modern workplace." He added that students can "earn a degree and plug into our network of human resources and employment relations alumni who are working in top companies, in the federal government and with American unions."

Government statistics suggest that by 2018, the employment of human resources managers is projected to increase by 10 percent, and approximately 12,900 new jobs will be created.ADNFCR-3211-ID-19893270-ADNFCR
